Bonsoir Tout Le Monde!

Hello from Paris! We made it, safe and sound, and despite some real technical difficulties, we're here and I'm here to update. Our internet access is really limited, so I probably won't be updating as much as I thought, but look for some photos soon.

Today, we landed, came to the hotel, met our tour manager Laura, and then headed to the Musee' D'Orsay, an old train station converted into an 18th-19th-20th century art MECCA full of impressionists, post-impressionists, and all of the lovely artwork out of those French masters. We took the RER (regional rail) there and the Metro back. We also ran into another group from Newark, NJ on the street. Looks like everyone wants to spend their Spring Break in Paris!

Then we wandered a little in the area, came back and had Italian [?!?] for dinner, and were ready to hit the hay!! Everyone was pretty beat but a group of us made it out for some VRAI Breton crepes in Montparnasse. Excellent. Now we're gearing up for a bus tour of the major sites in the city tomorrow, as well as a trip to Versailles, where we will tour on bicycles! Hooray, everyone's excited about that. Then we'll have dinner and make it out to see the Eiffel Tower in the evening, all lit and beautiful.

I hope you are all doing well, and though we can't wait to sleep in our own beds, we'll be home before we know it, wishing we had more time to explore all that Paris has to offer...

For now, a bientot!

  1. Sorry to hear about the technical difficulties, but it sounds like you had a great first day in Paris. The Musee D'Orsay is pretty wonderful. Versailles on bikes sounds like lots of fun. Have a great day!
